Lamborghini heard it, liked it, and kept it. The car had no name until someone was shocked into producing one. That energy never really left the Countach. Marcello Gandini drew it — the same man who would later lend his hand to Bentley concepts — and almost everything people assume was pure showmanship was actually a problem being solved. The scissor doors? The cockpit sat so close to the sill that a normal door couldn't swing open in a parking space. The famous rear wing? Not on the original. Owners asked for it. The factory obliged. The poster that decorated a generation of bedrooms was selling an option, not the car. Nearly 2,000 were hand-built over sixteen years. That's not a production run.
